Still wrapping up

We are still in the process of trying to tie up loose ends, and of course, some unseen force is doing some untying at the same time. Who would have thought a 1-year-old Honda minivan's hatch lock and then the driver's seat belt would each break? Of course, not at the same time, so 2 trips to the Honda dealer were necessary. New brakes for the Subaru? Is this the time for you to show your face? Double ear infections for Noah who never gets sick? How can I get lower back pain when I barely have time to exercise? Don't get me started on work hassles.

Enough of the drab, on to the positives. Sebo is loving living in Black Mountain. My mother reports that he has figured out how to get out of the garage door and into the house and then out a back door to get outside. My mom claims the outside door was locked. Pretty good for a creature with no thumbs. Two times she has come home to find him sitting outside by the front door with his new girlfriend, Bella. Another good thing: I found out that we can check our bicycles for free on United if they are in boxes. So, yesterday I went by Brian's and John's to reclaim 2 bikes (Repo Man), got them to Outback, and begged the bike shop chick to have them boxed before we leave next Tuesday. Of course, when we arrive in England with no car and no tools, it will be hard to re-assemble the bikes. That is a bridge for another day.

Off to do some packing.

Good Morning Liv, Noah, Sebo, Lindsey, and Rachelle,

We just returned from a grand bike trip 17 miles on the Virginia Creeper Trail to Damascus Virginia. Beautiful ride - all down the mountain - alongside mountain river and crossing wooden and iron bridges. Then at the bottom of the mountain we stopen for a fresh salad.

Sebo had his first overnight out play date. He and Bella were sleeping next to each other at our friends David and Lisa. Also, Sebo went with the other neighborhood dogs (Henry, Govenor, and Bella) to the lake (for a "Bath") at YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly. he came back wet but not muddy and Lisa had dried him off for us. When I came to the door to pick him up he was dancing and twirling and Soooo excited to see me. He loved his visit but was happy to see us.

That is an improvement over the previous day when Shirley came home from the doctor/dentist (she has to have another tooth pulled due to effects from chemo) office and found an ordinarily black and white dog totally BROWN from rolling in the mud in a creek (NOT LULLABY). Shirley had to work for an hour to wash and dry him off with three towels. Next time we will use soap and hose him off real good first.

Now it is time for a walk and Shirley and I both look forward to this morning ritual with Bella.

Hope the packing is going well for y'all and getting those last minute tasks accomplished.

Shirley said how Noah's sickness was from infected ear and you got him into specialist to prescribe anti-biotic. Noah, Grandma and I hope you are feeling better. We hope to hear from you and Liv about your thoughts as you are getting ready to depart for England.

Love, Grandpaw George
